Using the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) radio telescope in Western Australia, scientists focused on searching for techno-signatures in the low radio frequency range (around 100 MHz). The advantage of the MWA is its large field of view, which allowed researchers to cover about 2,800 galaxies at once, with the distance to 1,300 of them known.

Previously, searches for extraterrestrial civilizations have focused primarily on signals in our galaxy, but this study expands the scope of the search. The MWA has allowed scientists to look for potential signs of the existence of super-civilizations that could use the energy of their star or multiple stars to transmit signals over vast distances. Although no signs of extraterrestrial technology were identified, the results provide important data that will help future research. | BGNES
