According to the latest annual report of Freedom House, an organisation that monitors the state of democracy around the world, North Macedonia is again a partly free country and there is no change in its position compared to last year.
It concludes that the country continues to struggle with corruption and, while the media and civil society engage in lively public discourse, journalists and activists are subject to pressure and intimidation.
North Macedonia, as last year, scored 67 out of 100. Bulgaria, on the other hand, is a free country with a score of 78 out of 100.
The Washington-based organisation uses a zero to 100 point system to measure, ranking countries around the world as free, partly free and not free. | BGNES
