Actress Eva Longoria is following in the footsteps of her Spanish ancestors in a new TV series.
The 49-year-old embarks on a gastronomic tour of the country in 'Searching for Spain'. Eva tells her family's story in the series trailer.
The 'Desperate Housewives' star has been spending time in Spain and Mexico since leaving the US three years ago.
"Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for a new world and a new life. 400 years later, I return to see how the land and its inhabitants have created one of the most exciting cuisines in the world," she says in the trailer.
Longoria revealed that during the TV show she "visits a long-lost family".
"If you can keep your food and your recipes, you can teach the rest of the world who you are," the actress said.
Earlier, Eva explained that her decision to leave the US was unrelated to the political landscape in the country.
Instead, she insisted that she moved to Spain for work.
"I have been in Europe for almost three years. That's why I'm in Europe. I didn't leave because of the political situation. I left because my work took me there," Longoria told the Behind the Table podcast.
Eva, who was born in Texas, also insisted she is proud of her American heritage.
The actress stressed that the US elections had no influence on her decision to leave the country.
"I am a proud American. I have always been a proud American. Proud Texan, proud American. I didn't want it to be assumed that I left because of Trump - absolutely not - or because of the election," she pointed out. | BGNES
