Prime Minister Hristian Mitskoski again accused the "eastern neighbour" (Bulgaria) of interference in the internal affairs of North Macedonia, BGNES reports.
Mitskoski said he had heard many statements so far, but needed to see action, commenting on Skopje's European integration.
"We need to see action, and action in my view is recognition of the decisions of the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights for the Macedonian community in Bulgaria. Clear and unequivocal recognition of the centuries-old Macedonian identity, clear and unequivocal recognition of the centuries-old Macedonian culture, tradition, customs and clear and unequivocal recognition of the Macedonian language, which has been an official language in the UN since 1945. We have to respect the principles, otherwise we have a serious problem," Mitskoski said after laying the foundation stone of the Macedonian-Greek border crossing "Markova Noga", together with EU Ambassador to Skopje Michalis Rokas.
The prime minister pointed out that his country has no problem with other nations, on the contrary, it respects them.
"If someone has a problem because someone bigger than him gives him advice and someone perceives it as interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, then what we hear from our eastern neighbour, if it is not interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, I don't know what it is. So we are not a nation that has problems with other nations, on the contrary, we respect our neighbours, both Albanians, Serbs, Greeks, Bulgarians, but we demand equal respect for us, Macedonians", Hristian Mitskoski further stated. | BGNES
