Police in Milan, coordinated by the anti-terrorism unit of the local prosecutor's office, arrested a 38-year-old Turkish national living in Italy. The detainee is suspected of involvement in a criminal group that allegedly carried out terrorist attacks in Europe, ANSA reports.

The man is suspected of being affiliated with a group that allegedly carried out attacks in Europe, particularly in Berlin, killing a Turkish national on March 10, and that planned a foiled attack in Turkey targeting an aluminum factory on March 19-20 last year.

The criminal network is believed to have been led by a Turkish national arrested on 22 May 2024 along with 20 others in an international operation involving Italian, Swiss, Bosnian and Dutch police. | BGNES
