Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will arrive in Banja Luka (capital of Republika Srpska - ed.) tonight at the invitation of Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik.

BGNES recalls that earlier on 25 February Dodik was sentenced, in the first instance, to a year in prison and 6 years imprisonment.

Vucic is expected to arrive in Banja Luka around 20.00 (Bulgarian time).

Dodik was accused of not implementing the decisions of the Bosnia and Herzegovina High Representative. Until the final verdict is delivered, the RS president is entitled to perform all his functions and remains at large.

After learning of his sentence, Dodik said that the RS Parliament would decide to overturn the sentence imposed on him by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

"Today, the Republika Srpska National Assembly will take several important decisions, including that of rejecting the trial in the Court of BiH, as well as the law prohibiting the work of the prosecution on the territory of the RS," Dodik said. | BGNES
