Craig Ainsworth, the couple's former bodyguard David and Victoria Beckham, has died.
The former Royal Marine, who worked for the Beckhams from 2013 to 2015, has been found in Spain after being reported missing. Craig's mother, Sally Ainsworth, confirmed the news on social media.
"Craig has been found," she said on April 5.
"It is with the greatest sadness that the world has lost Craig. He served in Afghanistan and had post-traumatic stress disorder." Sally added.
She also uploaded a photo of the war veteran in his military uniform captioned, "RIP Craig" ("Rest in Peace Craig").
Prior to the tragic news, Sally made an urgent appeal for information about her son and noted that police had focused their search for him in Alicante and Barcelona. Before he disappeared, Craig, who was reportedly in his 40s, posted a suicide note on Facebook.
After his service in the Royal Marines Craig, who was originally from Enfield in north London, worked as a bodyguard to Hollywood stars including Johnny Depp, Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hemsworth, Henry Cavill, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Jason Momoa and Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 2013, he began his two-year internship with the Beckham family. At the time, the family lived in a property in Holland Park.
The Beckham family's close relationship with Craig
Following the release of the Beckham documentary in 2023, Craig spoke to The Mirror about David and Victoria and praised them for their approach to parenthood.
"David was charming. Victoria stood back, was with the kids or working. Under the spotlight they were under, their children were well behaved. For them to have that level of fame and maintain their family unit, then they must be doing something right," the late veteran said at the time.
David and Victoria have yet to respond to the news of Craig's passing. | BGNES
