The case against American rapper and producer Puff Daddy has been expanded with two new charges, according to a court document released on Friday, weeks before his trial in May for a massive sex trafficking ring he is suspected of running.
The new indictment against the failed hip-hop mogul, who has been in jail since last September awaiting trial, now includes additional charges of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and trafficking for the purpose of prostitution, related to a woman identified simply as "Victim-2" by prosecutors.
The new charges add to a raft of charges for which Puff Daddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, is already facing a life sentence. The producer will be tried in New York on charges of sex trafficking and extortion, charges to which he has pleaded not guilty, at his trial, which is set to begin on May 5.
Several complaints were revealed in the fall of 2023 against Puff Daddy, in particular regarding allegations of rape by R&B singer Cassie, who was his girlfriend, a procedure that was finally settled through an “amicable” agreement. Arrested last fall, he is accused by the US justice system of putting his music empire at the service of a violent system of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Since then, he has been the subject of civil complaints from more than 120 alleged victims. Superstar Sean Combs is today described by his victims as a cruel sexual predator who used alcohol and drugs to subdue them. I "Figaro", BGNES
