The first vote against the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov expectedly did not succeed, BGNES reported.
The vote was proposed by "Revival" and supported by the deputies from " Greatness" and "Mech" with the motive of failures in foreign policy, specifically pointing to the Bulgarian position on Ukraine and the death of the Bulgarian citizen Marin Marinov in Gaza.
According to most politicians from both the ruling and the largest opposition party, the motives for the vote were unfounded. At least Zhelyazkov's government has been in power for just over two and a half months and can hardly be blamed for foreign policy mistakes, especially since its pro-European course is supported by the majority of the parliamentary parties and Bulgarian society.
The ruling party, including GERB leader Boyko Borissov, saw the vote as a desire to prevent Bulgaria from adopting the euro. Bulgaria expects very soon to receive a positive convergence report, which will open the way for it to join the euro zone, thus finally completing Bulgaria's euro integration. I BGNES
