The LA Lakers consolidated their fourth place in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) after defeating the Houston Rockets 104:98 at home in another regular season match.
Luka Doncic, Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent each scored 20 points for the victory, with Finney-Smith and Vincent being very useful, hitting six three-pointers each. LeBron James scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks, and Austin Reeves added 12 points.
For the Rockets, who missed the opportunity to guarantee their participation in the playoffs, Amen Thompson was above everyone with 20 points. Four others finished with 10 or more points - Tari Eason (13), Alperen Sengun (14), Jabari Smith Jr. (15 plus 11 rebounds) and Dillon Brooks (16).
In the West, Houston is in second place with a 49-27 record, while the Lakers are in fourth place with 46 wins and 29 losses. Like the Texans, the Californians are still unsure whether they will play directly in the playoffs or will have to go through the play-in tournament. In their next games, LA hosts the Golden State Warriors and the Rockets are playing the Utah Jazz at home.
