The last night of the regular season in the National Basketball Association (NBA) offered a lot of emotions, drama and twists. All the pairs in the play-in tournament are now clear, as well as some of the clashes in the playoffs in both conferences.
In the West, the LA Clippers dramatically defeated the Golden State Warriors 124:119 away after overtime. Thus, the Clippers avoided the playoffs, where the Warriors will play. Their opponent will be the Memphis Grizzlies, who finished in eighth place, with a tie with the seventh-seeded Warriors. Thus, the winner of the pair will face the second seed in the Western Conference - the Houston Rockets. The loser goes against the winner of the other play-in pair in the West, opposing the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks.
The two clear pairs in the playoffs are also very curious. The LA Lakers will play the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Denver Nuggets face the LA Clippers.
In the East, the Chicago Bulls will face the Miami Heat in the playoffs, and the Orlando Magic will face the Atlanta Hawks. The clear pairings in the playoffs there are the Indiana Pacers - Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks - Detroit Pistons. The first and second seeds are the Cleveland Cavaliers and the defending champions Boston Celtics, respectively.
The play-in tournament will be held from April 15-18, and the playoffs begin on April 19.
