The official exchange rate of the lev to the euro is fixed, with the lev pegged to the euro. It will remain the same upon euro adoption: EUR 1 = BGN 1.95583, the BNB explains. From the date of euro adoption in Bulgaria, the currency to be used in the country will be the euro.
The period during which prices of goods and services will be displayed in both euros and levs starts one month after the date of entry into force of the decision on the adoption of the euro and ends 12 months after the date of introduction of the euro in Bulgaria.
The BNB will exchange banknotes and coins from levs into euro at the official exchange rate free of charge, in unlimited quantities and without time limit.
The exchange of levs into euro will be carried out by dividing the numerical value in levs by the full numerical value of the official exchange rate expressed in 6 digits with all five decimal places. The resulting amount shall be rounded to two decimal places.
The minimum capital for the formation of a limited liability company after the adoption of the euro shall be EUR 1.
The minimum capital for a public limited liability company shall be EUR 25 000. | BGNES
