Serbian President: I raided the resuscitation room of the burnt Macedonian youths

Vučić's action sparked sharp comments both in Serbia and in North Macedonia. All described it as a "brutal PR campaign at the expense of the health and lives of the seriously injured".

I haven't asked anyone. I myself entered the intensive care unit with the burnt Macedonian youths in the fire in the disco in Kochani (North Macedonia).

This is what Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said about the outrage over his deed, BGNES reported.

Serbian student protesters demanded that those responsible for the presence of Aleksandar Vucic and media crews in the intensive care unit of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia be identified on 17 March. Patients injured in the fire in North Macedonia were admitted to this ward. According to them, the President and his entourage were not properly equipped and endangered the lives of those being treated.

"They have nothing to look for. No one has given me permission. I went to feast on them myself," Vucic said several times after his meeting in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron. He said he wanted to show how good the burnout clinic was that was built during his time.
