Antonio Banderas wants to work with his stepdaughter Dakota Johnson

Banderas praised his stepdaughter for forging her own career without relying on her family connections.

Actor Antonio Banderas wants to star in a movie with his stepdaughter Dakota Johnson.

He is a big fan of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star, who is the daughter of his ex-wife Melanie Griffith and her ex-husband Don Johnson. Antonio has known she was a "great" actress since a very young age.

Asked if they would ever star together, he told Britain's HELLO! magazine, "I would love to do it. In fact, the first film she was in - 'Crazy in Alabama' - I directed it. I think she was about ten years old and she was great. She followed directions and did everything right."

Banderas praised his stepdaughter for forging her own career without relying on her family connections.

"Dakota created her own world and that's a healthier way than just saying 'Mommy, Daddy.' She had to get out of the house, find her own way - and that's exactly what she did, and we're very proud of her," he said.

Despite his own years of experience, the 64-year-old celebrity knows he can count on Dakota to help him learn his lines and give tips on performing.

"I was preparing a character and I said, 'Dakota, can you just read this for me? ' She said, 'Okay, Papi, but be careful with that - I think you're going a little too far,'" Antonio shared.

Banderas also praised his and Melanie's daughter Stella, 28, who is "too shy to stand in front of a camera" but is quickly making a name for herself as a producer.

"Stella is not an actress. She wants to be behind the camera and aspires to that. She's done a few commercials. She's done short films and I'm guessing she'll eventually do a feature film. Dakota is the opposite. Dakota just jumps in front of the camera," he told. | BGNES
