Margaret Qualley is getting a new role in Ridley Scott's upcoming film "The Dog Stars," joining Jacob Ellordie in the cast.
The 30-year-old star of "The Substance" will star in this adaptation of Peter Heller's novel, which Ridley Scott will direct.
"The Dog Stars" is set in a near-future world where society has changed drastically. Ellordie stars as Higg, a civilian pilot who lives on an abandoned air force base in Colorado with his dog. He forms an unlikely partnership with Bagley, a tough ex-Marine played by Josh Brolin, as they navigate their way through a dangerous new world. When Higg picks up a mysterious transmission on his plane's radio, it raises hope that life exists beyond their isolated world. He decides to risk everything and follow the signal.
Along with the main cast, Guy Pearce is also starring, and Margaret Qualley will take on the character of Sima, a young doctor and daughter of a weary farmer (Pearce) whom Higg meets on his life-changing journey.
Paul Mescal was originally chosen for the role of Higg, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with a Beatles biopic.
Filming of the movie is expected to begin in April in Italy. | BGNES
