Shakira has cancelled her concert in Peru's capital after being hospitalized with abdominal pain.
It is her first world tour in seven years.
The 48-year-old Colombian star said on her social media accounts that she went to the emergency room on Saturday night and stayed in hospital. 
"The doctors in whose care I am now reported that I am not in good enough condition to perform tonight," she said. 
"I am very sad that I will not be able to go on stage today. I was looking forward to meeting my amazing fans here in Peru again," the singer added. She expressed hope that she will be discharged from the hospital in a day's time to continue her tour.
Shakira kicked off her tour in Rio de Janeiro just days after receiving a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album, which she dedicated to migrants in the US.
One of the most popular Latin performers of all time, she will perform nearly 50 concerts in Latin America by the end of June, followed by more in the US and Canada. | BGNES, AFP
