Kaiti Gray, iconic Greek singer, dies at 100

Legendary Greek singer Katie Gray, a key figure in folk music, has died at the age of 100, Kathimerini reports.

Known for her distinctive voice and timeless hits such as "To Marazi" and "To Vouno," Gray died at her home after battling health problems, including a stroke in October.

Born Athanasia Ghizili on the island of Samos in 1924, she began her career as an actress before achieving success in music. During her decades-long career, Gray recorded more than 1,500 songs, performed internationally and collaborated with Greece's finest composers and legendary performers.

Known for her authenticity and deep connection with her audiences, Grey remains one of Greece's most influential singers. | BGNES
