US President Donald Trump and his Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth denied information that appeared in some Greek media that Washington is preparing to close its military base in Alexandroupolis, Kathimerini reported.
"This is not a true story. No, it's not true," Trump said.
The U.S. president was asked about that specific question by a journalist during the press conference he gave with French President Emmanuel Macron in the Oval Office.
The Republican appeared to be unfamiliar with the question and turned first to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and then to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Hegseth replied that the story was not true , which was later repeated by the President. | BGNES
