Neymar is no longer a player for Al Hilal after the Brazilian's contract was terminated by mutual consent. The most expensive player in football history (222 million euros from Barcelona to PSG in 2017) moved to Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, but was plagued by injuries and played only seven games for the Saudi Arabian club.

"The club expresses its gratitude to Neymar for what he gave during his stay at Al Hilal and wishes him success in the future," wrote the Saudi club, which paid 90 million euros for the striker.

The 32-year-old Neymar is expected to return to Brazil and play for his home club Santos, where his career began. Neymar has not played for Brazil since 2023, but is still the record goalscorer in the history of the national team, surpassing Pele's achievement. | BGNES
