Tesla orders two import models in China, made in the US

Tesla has stopped taking new orders for Model S and Model X vehicles on its Chinese website.
Both models are made in the US and imported into China. New orders for both models are also no longer available on the automaker's WeChat mini-program in China, Reuters reports.

Higher U.S. tariffs significantly increase retail costs for Chinese consumers, making these cars more expensive than domestic options.
The Austin, Texas-based company is the least affected by Trump's tariffs among automakers due to its mostly domestic production for U.S. sales.
The U.S. automaker builds Model 3 and Model Y vehicles at its Shanghai plant for sale domestically and for export to markets such as Europe, which accounts for the bulk of its sales. | BGNES
