Comedian Martin Short to feature on Selena Gomez's wedding day

Gomez and Blanco, 37, who confirmed their romance in late 2023, announced their engagement in December 2024.

Selena Gomez has revealed the big role her 'Murder in the Building' colleague Martin Short will have in her upcoming wedding to Benny Blanco.

"Marty has to give a speech," the actress said on an episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show."

"I told him he had to...I feel like Marty is going to have an epic speech."

Gomez, 32, joked that their colleague Steve Martin would "probably pull out his banjo" and show off his musical skills.

Host Drew Barrymore wondered if the pop singer would get 79-year-old Martin and 75-year-old Short to lead the ceremony.

"Oh my god! I hadn't even thought about that," the Disney Channel alum replied.

Gomez and Blanco, 37, who confirmed their romance in late 2023, announced their engagement in December 2024.

"Forever starts now," she wrote on Instagram alongside photos from their special moment.

She then showed off her giant marquise diamond from the music producer.

During her appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" last week, Gomez revealed how Blanco proposed marriage to her and admitted she was "upset" by it before the proposal.

The "Lose You to Love Me" singer recalled how Blanco asked her to come on set for their album "I Said I Love You First."

"I woke up and I was very confused about what was going on or where we were going because it seemed kind of distant. I was kind of frowning and very tired," she explains.

Gomez said she even told Blanco she wanted to "go out with friends" after they finished work.

After that, the engagement "went off without a hitch," and the Wizards of Waverly Place alum "got scared."

The couple said they are in no rush to make wedding plans and haven't "figured anything out" yet. | BGNES
