World film star and presenter Richard Chamberlain has died aged 90.
He rose to fame with the medical series Dr Kildare in the 1960s and went on to become an icon of miniseries such as Shogun and Birds Die Alone.
Publicist Harlan Ball reported that the actor died on March 29 at 11:15 p.m. Hawaii time in Waimanalo, Hawaii, from complications following a stroke.
"Our beloved Richard is now with the angels," wrote Martin Rabet, Chamberlain's longtime partner. "He is free and ascending to those loved ones before us. How blessed we were to have known such an amazing and loving soul. Love never dies. And our love is under his wings, lifting him up to his next great adventure," Rabet wrote.
Chamberlain starred in several notable films, including Petulia, The Three Musketeers, The Musicians and Peter Weir's The Last Wave.
