A month after the Novi Sad train station tragedy: new protests and demands for resignations

A month has passed since the incident at Novi Sad railway station, when 15 people were killed when a roof fell and two of the injured are still in hospital.

On this occasion, a protest march was held from the railway station to Svoboda Square, BGNES reports.

On the way to the town hall, those gathered stopped 15 times and held a minute's silence in honour of the dead. At the protest, which began at noon today at the railway station, they demanded the resignations of Novi Sad Mayor Milan Djuric and Serbia's Prime Minister Milos Vucevic.

The protest in Novi Sad ended with the painting of Freedom Square red.

No incidents occurred during the march past the building of President Vucic's Serbian Progressive Party (SPP), as the organisers asked citizens to pay no attention to the SPP activists gathered there. | BGNES
