Manchester United beat Leicester 2:1 at home in their fourth round tie in the FA Cup.
At Old Trafford, the visitors, led by former Red Devils striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, struck first at the end of the opening 45 minutes after Bobby Decordova-Reid's goal. After the break, United manager Ruben Amorim brought in Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee, which reflected in the result. The Netherlands international equalised four minutes after coming on after Garnacho's good run from the left, before the dramatic closing stages of the match.
In the 93rd minute, former Leicester defender Harry Maguire scored with a header after Bruno Fernandes' cross to send the home fans into raptures. The Foxes were left with a bitter taste in their mouths after it was shown that Maguire was actually in an offside position. However, VAR is not used in this round of the FA Cup and the goal was ultimately allowed.
United are the first team to reach the last 16 of the competition after their third win over Leicester this season. Both teams renew their Premier League commitments, with Manchester United visiting Tottenham while Van Nistelrooy's struggling side host Arsenal. | BGNES
