Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will attend the official signing ceremony of the contract for exploration and prospecting for oil and natural gas in Block 1-26 Khan Tervel, located in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, the government press service said.

The contract will be signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria and Shell Exploration and Production. The ceremony will also be attended by Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov and Shell's Executive Vice President Research, Strategy and Portfolio Eugene Okpere.

The new exploration in the Black Sea is an important step towards unlocking the potential of Bulgaria's own production in the context of our country's energy independence, which is a top priority of the government. IBGNES
