Ukraine and the United States have signed a "memorandum of intent" on the natural resources deal, Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko said, BGNES reported.
"We are preparing to create an Investment Fund for the recovery of Ukraine. The relevant agreement will open opportunities for significant investment, infrastructure modernization and mutually beneficial partnership between Ukraine and the United States - this is the goal our teams are working towards," she said on social networks.
Sviridenko added that the next steps include finalizing the text of the agreement and signing it, followed by ratification by both parliaments.
"It is important that through our agreements we reaffirm the American people's commitment to invest with the Ukrainian people in a free, sovereign and secure Ukraine. Next, the text of the agreement will be finalized and signed, followed by ratification by both parliaments. I thank our technical teams - Ukrainian and American - for their professional, constructive and prompt work," the Minister stressed.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said the deal would be finalised next week. | BGNES
