Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US Vice President JD Vance are expected to meet at the Munich Security Conference later this week.
The U.S. delegation to Europe's top security conference, to be held between February 14 and 16, will also include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg, the Kyiv Independent reports.
Although details of the expected Vance-Zelensky meeting were not disclosed, Kellogg previously said U.S. officials would talk in Munich about "Trump's goal of ending the bloody and costly war in Ukraine."
The retired general later denied media reports that he planned to reveal Trump's strategy for ending the war during the event.
On 7 February, the US president revealed that he aims to meet with Zelensky in Washington next week. He also recently said the US wants access to Ukraine's rare earth minerals in exchange for aid. Zelensky responded that Kiev was open to mining deals with partners.
Trump also claims he has spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war. The US president indicated he had a concrete plan to end the war, adding:
"I hope it's quick. People are dying every day. This war is so bad in Ukraine. I want to end this damn thing." | BGNES
