Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered an immediate air and sea truce if Russia offers the same. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in X.
"We are ready to work quickly to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and a ceasefire in the sky - banning missiles, long-range drones, bombing energy and other civilian infrastructure - and an immediate ceasefire at sea if Russia does the same. After that, we want to move very quickly through all the next stages and work with the United States to negotiate a strong final agreement," Zelensky stated.
The Ukrainian president underlined Kiev's commitment to peace. He stressed that no one in his homeland wants an endless war.
"Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. No one wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I are ready to work under President Trump's strong leadership to achieve lasting peace," Zelensky said.
He said Ukraine greatly appreciates what the US has done for it.
"Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to. It's unfortunate that it happened this way. It's time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive," Zelensky declared.
He also indicated that Ukraine is ready to sign the mineral and security agreement at any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step towards greater security and solid security guarantees and I sincerely hope that it will work effectively," Zelensky stressed. | BGNES
