Russia said that the suspension of US aid to Ukraine after the public clash between their leaders Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky was the best contribution to ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The suspension, announced on March 3, took effect immediately and affects hundreds of millions of dollars in weapons that are in the process of being sent to Ukraine, AFP reported.
"If the United States stops (military deliveries), it will probably be the best contribution to peace," Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
He added that it was "a decision that can really push the Kiev regime towards a peace process."
"We will see how the situation on the ground will develop," Peskov said, stressing that the United States has been Ukraine's main military supplier since Moscow began its offensive in Ukraine in February 2023 | BGNES
