According to the current Cooperation Agreement between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", the two institutions have launched a joint initiative for a series of events under the title "MUSICORUM VIA. TWO ACADEMIES - ONE STAGE". It is a series of evening concerts that the students of the NMA will perform during the academic year in the hall "prof. Marin Drinov" of the BAS-Administration, on ul. "November 15" No. 1. They will present the latest and highest quality production of the young performers, which is why the initiative is called "The Way of Musicians" in Latin. Thus, the students can count on another stage, since in recent years the stage of the NMA appears insufficient for their performances. The historic Prof. Marin Drinov", also called the Great Hall of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, offers not only a central location, but also wonderful acoustics that are hard to find in most concert halls of the capital. Another advantage of the start-up initiative is that a high-quality Yamaha C7 concert grand piano will be used on stage, which NMA is providing to BAS for the project. Last but not least, it should be noted that the concerts of "MUSICORUM VIA" are free not only for the academic community but also for all music lovers in Sofia. It is an honour for the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to participate in such an initiative, socialising more and more citizens to its mission to be a guardian of traditions, to uplift the spirit and to educate good taste for serious art. About a decade ago in the Prof. An identical event, called Art Hour, was held at the Marin Drinov Hall, but it was mainly aimed at the representatives of the Academy.

The leaderships of NMA and BAS (Art. Evelina Slavcheva, prof. Evelina Slavlova, Prof. Sava Dimitrov, Prof. Borislava Taneva and prof. Emanuel Mutafov) will give a press conference about their joint initiative on 07.04.2025 at 16:30 in the "Acad. Ivan Evstratiev Geshov at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences-Administration.

The first concert of "MUSICORUM VIA" is titled "Masterpieces of Opera and Operetta Classics" and will take place immediately after the press conference at 18:00 in "Prof. Marin Drinov. The students of prof. Violeta Gorcheva from the Vocal Faculty of the National Academy of Music will perform arias and ensembles from the works of Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Offenbach, Kalman, Lehár, which carry the rapturous atmosphere and melodies of the European Classics and Romanticism.
