Artists and scientists will search for extraterrestrial life through the show "Cosmos of Wonders" in Sofia, Bulgaria

The show, titled "Cosmos of Wonders", is the work of Dimitar Uzunov (Arte Urbana Collective) and will premiere on April 10 at the Topocentral Regional Center for Contemporary Arts.

Artists and scientists embark on a fantastical journey into the near future, when humanity has taken to the stars in search of extraterrestrial life.

The show, titled "Cosmos of Wonders", is the work of Dimitar Uzunov (Arte Urbana Collective) and will premiere on April 10 at the Topocentral Regional Center for Contemporary Arts.

Uzunov created the play together with the Italian director and scriptwriter Andrea Brunello, and we will also see him in one of the main roles, together with the actress Hristiana Stoimenova.

The audience will meet the first child born in space - Mira, a symbol of hope and technological progress. Growing up on the Icarus orbital station, she is the subject of worldwide attention - an influencer, an experiment and an icon of the future. While society idolises her, Mira begins to question her role. Lacking any real choice, she longs for Earth, a world she has never touched but which beckons her with its magnetic unfamiliarity. Meanwhile, two lovable aliens, Flip and Flop, discover the planet and see it as a potential paradise for growing tea.

The play balances philosophical musings, social satire and science fiction to raise questions about human identity, isolation and the cost of progress. All leavened with a solid dose of humour and trivia. Will Mira follow the fate that has been thrust upon her, or will she find her own path?

"Cosmos of Wonders is a daring and intelligent theatrical adventure that combines humour, social critique and a futuristic vision of humanity.

The team of the show also includes the popular musician and composer Nikola Gruev - Kotarashki, the author of the music and sound design, the IKAR '24-nominated scenographer and video artist Nikola Nalbantov and the choreographer Stefania Georgieva.

The artistic team of the performance, which explores the theme of astrobiology and potential life beyond the Earth, is joined by two popular Bulgarian scientists as consultants - the popular astrophysicist Dr. Vladimir Bozhilov and the molecular biologist prof. Milena Georgieva.

Tickets are now on sale online on the Heat Plant website at prices of BGN 20 and BGN 15 (for seniors, schoolchildren and students), and will also be available for purchase at the cultural centre box office.

"Cosmos of Wonders was created within the European project Please ASK! to produce theatrical works in collaboration with scientists, science communicators and research institutes.
