Japanese video game giant Nintendo is to unveil a new version of its hugely popular Switch console. The product is eagerly awaited by gamers and investors alike.
Everything from the release date to the price of the Switch 2 will be announced at 1 p.m. GMT during a one-hour online video broadcast following the brief first look in mid-January.
The Switch 2 features a larger screen, a wider stand, and retains the "Joy-Con" detachable controllers. Visually, it's very similar to its best-selling predecessor, which launched in 2017,
It will also be more powerful than the original model, while retaining its hybrid console concept, allowing players to use it both on the go and connected to a TV - a key factor in the success of the first Switch, of which 150 million units have been sold worldwide. | BGNES, AFP
