Dodik is wanted for violations of the constitutional order.
The Interpol office in Sarajevo has initiated the issuance of an international arrest warrant for Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik and RS Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandic, Serbian official Politika reported.
The warrant states that the mentioned persons are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and RS. Dodik and Stevandic are wanted for prosecution for committing the crime of "assault against the constitutional order" under Article 156 of the BiH Criminal Code.
The aforementioned international arrest warrants have been issued for the territories of all Member States and as such have been filed in the Interpol system for all members.
Interpol Belgrade received the international arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik at 22:20 local time on 26 March and for Nenad Stevandić at 22:28.
BGNES recalls that on 17 March the Court of BiH issued arrest warrants for President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandic and Prime Minister of the entity Radovan Viskovic.
On 25 March, Dodik visited Serbia to mark the 26th anniversary of NATO's Operation Allied Force, which came in response to the ethnic cleansing launched by war criminal Slobodan Milosevic against Albanians in Kosovo. On 26 March, the BiH Border Police announced that it was investigating how the RS president had crossed BiH's state border with Serbia. Later that day, Dodik left for Israel. | BGNES
