Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said that a just and lasting peace in Ukraine can only be achieved with the help of the United States, reports Agence France-Presse.
"I would like to address the most important global issue: the peace talks in Ukraine. For me, and I believe for most Romanians, what is important are not the sharp, momentary statements of world leaders, but the ultimate goal - a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Peace can only be achieved with the help of Romania's strategic partner, the United States," Ciolacu said at the start of the government meeting.
He stressed that peace would lead to lower energy and gas prices, as well as to economic recovery across Europe.
"It is also vital that we participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, a project worth more than 500 billion euros, from which Romanian companies should benefit as much as possible," the Romanian prime minister added. | BGNES
