The Bulgarian Parliament has approved a bill to ratify the International Treaty "Acquisition of Javelin anti-tank guided missiles".
"164 MPs voted in favour- GERB- SDS, "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria", "DPS-New Beginning", "BSP-United Left", "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms-DPS", "There is such a nation" and "Greatness".
The implementation of the contract will provide the necessary quantity of missiles for the anti-tank systems of the Stryker combat and reconnaissance vehicles and will contribute to the preparation and maintenance of capabilities for participation in operations to guarantee national sovereignty and independence and to protect the territorial integrity of the country, the bill's motives say.
The scope of the contract includes the acquisition of guided anti-tank missiles; a lightweight missile launcher command module; maintenance equipment; technical literature; missile-related software; supporting documentation; maintenance until February 2035; training for use; and training of munitions specialists.
The contract has a total value of $82,762,140 | BGNES
