Carlos Alcaraz will try to enjoy his game and not put any extra pressure on himself as he seeks a third consecutive title at the upcoming Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells.
"I'll try not to think about it, but to enjoy everything that happens on the court. Every time I come here, I enjoy training and playing. Everything comes easy for me. It will certainly be great to win the title for the third time in a row", said the Spaniard, who will try to equal the achievement of Roger Federer (2004-06) and Novak Djokovic (2014-16) of three consecutive trophies in the California desert.
He also commented on the absence of world number 1 Jannick Sinner, who is suspended for three months for doping. "Yes, Jannick won't play, but a lot of the best players in the world are here. I think the draw is very open. I'm just focused on myself".
Alcaraz is seeded No. 2 in the main draw and could face five-time champion Djokovic in the quarterfinals. Nole leads the head-to-head 5-3 against the young Spaniard, having beaten him recently in four sets at the Australian Open in January. The No. 1 seed is Alexander Zverev of Germany, who is chasing a first Indian Wells title of his career. | BGNES
