Asked on Sunday whether a deal for TikTok was imminent, Trump told reporters, "It's possible."
"We're dealing with four different groups. And a lot of people want it, and it's up to me," he said aboard Air Force One.
"All four are good," he added, without naming them.
The TikTok ban law went into effect on January 19 over concerns that the Chinese government could use the video-sharing platform to spy on Americans or secretly influence public opinion in the United States.
As the law's deadline approached, TikTok temporarily halted operations in the United States and disappeared from app stores, to the dismay of millions of users.
Trump suspended enforcement for two and a half months after beginning his second term in January, seeking a solution with Beijing.
TikTok subsequently restored the service in the U.S. and returned to the Apple and Google app stores in February.
Among the potential buyers of TikTok is the "People's Bid for TikTok" initiative launched by real estate and sports mogul Frank McCourt's Project Liberty.
Other candidates include Microsoft, Oracle and a group that includes Internet personality MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson.
TikTok doesn't seem overly motivated about selling the app.
During his first stint in the White House, Trump tried to ban TikTok in the United States on national security grounds. | BGNES
