Sabalenka and Andreeva to battle for Indian Wells title

The final in the women's tournament is set to begin at 20:00 pm Bulgarian time.

Aryna Sabalenka will battle for the Indian Wells women's title. The world number 1 avenged her Australian Open final loss to Madison Keys, defeating the American 6-0, 6-1 in less than an hour on court.

The Belarusian hasn't been at her best since her Melbourne title defeat by Keys, but she's shown plenty of class and solidity to give her opponent no chance. Sabalenka ended her 16-match winning streak.

She will face teenager Mira Andreeva in today's final. The 17-year-old Russian continued her recent run of strong form, defeating Iga Swiatek 7-6 (1), 1-6, 6-3. Andreeva stopped the Pole for the second time in recent weeks, having also defeated her in Dubai on her way to the title. There, the teenager also became the youngest champion in a WTA 1000 tournament. The loss ended the dream of Swiatek, who was in great form during the tournament, to become the first woman to win three titles in the Californian desert.

The final between Sabalenka and Andreeva is tonight and will start no earlier than 20:00 Bulgarian time. | BGNES
