China will host Russia and Iran for trilateral talks on Tehran's nuclear program, Beijing's Foreign Ministry said.
"The three countries will exchange views on the Iranian nuclear issue and other issues of mutual interest," a foreign ministry spokesman was said.
China's Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov Sergei Alekseyevich and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi will attend the meeting.
During U.S. President Donald Trump's first term, which ended in 2021, Washington withdrew from a landmark agreement that imposed limits on Iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
Tehran stuck to the 2015 deal for a year after Washington's withdrawal, but then began withdrawing its commitments.
Efforts to revive the pact have since failed. | BGNES
