The Houthis in Yemen will resume attacks on Israeli ships after the deadline for resuming aid deliveries to Gaza passes.
The Houthis said they were "resuming the ban on the passage of all Israeli ships" in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Baba al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden after Israel failed to meet a four-day deadline set by the militants to resume suspended humanitarian supplies to the Palestinians.
More than a week ago, Israel blocked all aid into the war-ravaged territory in an attempt to pressure Hamas to release the remaining hostages it took in its October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
The increasingly fragile ceasefire was further threatened after Israel announced it would cut off power to a water desalination plant in Gaza. | BGNES, AFP
