Porto and Roma will settle the score at Stadio Olimpico, AZ Alkmaar thrash 10-men Galatasaray

The game in Portugal finished 1:1, while AZ won 4:1 at home.

Porto and Roma settled for a draw in the first play-off clash of the knockout phase in Europa League. At Estadio do Dragao in Portugal, the match ended 1:1.

"Wolves" took the lead through Zeki Celik in the added time of the first half. The hosts restored the status quo through Francisco Moura in the 67th minute, and five later Roma remained in a reduced squad after the second yellow card of Bryan Cristante. However, Porto was unable to take the lead before the second leg at Stadio Olimpico in a week.

In another match, AZ Alkmaar beat Galatasaray 4:1 in the Netherlands. Sven Mijnans gave the hosts the lead, who in the main phase drew with the Bulgarian champion Ludogorets. Roland Sallai equalised for the Turkish giants, but Troy Parrott restored AZ's lead from the penalty spot. The situation for Galatasaray deteriorated dramatically in the 51st minute when Kaan Ayhan was sent off for a second yellow card. Two more goals for AZ Alkmaar followed, scored by Jordy Clasie and David Wolfe, which guaranteed the hosts a big advantage before the second leg in Istanbul.

The first play-off matches in the Conference League were also full of intriguing results, with Icelandic Vikingur Reykjavik winning 2:1 at home against Panathinaikos. Betis, on the other hand, achieved a classic 3:0 victory over Gent.
