Maria Sharapova is returning to boxing after a three-year break. The Russian announced this on Instagram.
Sharapova claims that she does this sport mainly for cardio. She manages to last 3-4 rounds. Her retirement from tennis was a surprise, but expected by her fans.
She has won all four Grand Slam tournaments, only triumphing twice at the French Open. This happened in 2012 and 2014.
Her last success at Roland Garros was against Simona Halep after 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. The Russian won the silver medal in London in 2012, after losing in the final to Serena Williams with 0-6, 1-6. | BGNES
