There is intense diplomatic activity to resolve the issue with Bulgaria. In this regard, senior representatives of the European Union will visit Skopje in the coming months.
This was stated by EU Ambassador to Skopje Michalis Rokas after the laying of the cornerstone of the Macedonian-Greek border crossing "Markova Noga", reports RSE.
"At the EU level, we are working hard in close cooperation with the government of Republic of North Macedonia to overcome all remaining issues before starting negotiations. There is intense diplomatic activity to resolve this issue, senior EU representatives will visit Skopje in the next two to three months and I hope we can move forward," Michalis Rokas said in response to a journalist's question "what is the mood in the EU on the possible signing of a statement by the European Council, the European Commission or the Bulgarian side stating that the inclusion of Bulgarians in the constitution will be the only bilateral issue on the RSM's path to the EU."
At the same time, Rokas stressed that while this issue is being addressed, efforts should continue to implement the reform agenda adopted in line with the Western Balkans Growth Plan. | BGNES
