Historic three-peat as McClung clinches again the Slam Dunk contest

A reverse dunk over a car on his first attempt was enough for the victory.

Mac McClung scored a historic three-peat in the Slam Dunk Contest during the NBA All-Star Weekend. The 26-year-old G League player for the Orlando Magic won the contest for the third consecutive time, a feat that had never been done before.

McClung blew away the competition on his first attempt, dunking over a car. He received only 50s for his performance. "This is something I love to do. It's where I get creative, I really love this contest and I love dunking", said McClung, who fought for first place in competition with Matas Buzelis (Chicago Bulls), Andre Jackson Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks) and San Antonio Spurs rookie Stephon Castle, who reached the final round.

Miami Heat basketball player Tyler Herro triumphed in the battle of the three-pointers. Hero scored 24 points in the final round, which was enough for him to finish above Buddy Hield (Golden State Warriors). Thus, the current two-time champion in the competition, Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks, was also dethroned. He was eliminated in the first round, and the third finalist was Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers).

It was The Cavaliers who were victorious in the Team Skills Challenge. The duo of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley beat the competition of the representatives of the hosts from the Golden State Warriors - Draymond Green and Moses Moody.

The All-Star game is on Monday morning and starts at 05:00 Bulgarian time. | BGNES
