Famous actress Julianne Moore has announced that new President Donald Trump has banned her children's book called 'Freckle-faced Strawberry'.
The Hollywood star made the announcement on her Instagram page.
According to Moore, her book has been banned from distribution and reading in schools run by the US Department of Defense.
"Freckleberry" is a story about a 7-year-old girl with freckles on her face. The heroine learns to accept herself and live with freckles. The story is based on Julianne's childhood and experiences. The 64-year-old actress admitted she was saddened by this decision by the administration. The actress also recalled that she attended a comprehensive school for children of servicemen and her father was a Vietnam War veteran.
"It's unfortunate that now children of servicemen (like I was) won't be able to read a book written by someone whose life experience is similar to theirs. There is nothing controversial or provocative in it that should be banned," the actress said.
Moore added that she was saddened by the ban "in a country where freedom of speech and expression are constitutional rights." | BGNES
